Separate the strips and remove the black liner—it’s the one marked “Wall Side”. Now press the strip directly onto the wall where you want to hang your hook.
Do Command strips really work?
Command strips work on most surfaces, but not all. The surfaces you can use them on are painted, stained or varnished wood, glass, tile, painted cinder block, plaster, drywall, metal, and painted wallboard. They will also stick to smooth cinder block, like what you see inside school buildings.

The large strips can handle a 24-inch to 36-inch object that weighs up to 16 pounds. The smaller hanging strips can only handle up to 4 pounds.

How do you remove command strips without peeling paint?
A Piece of Floss and a Hairdryer will do the Trick
First, warm up the adhesive with a hairdryer. 30 seconds or so seems to be about right. Next, use dental floss or fishing line to gently cut through the adhesive strip. Rub off any remaining adhesive residue, and the Command Hook is ready to reuse!
